What are telomeres?
Telomeres are elements of our chromosomes that impact how cells age. Telomeres shorten each time a cell breaks which, over time, leaves genetic DNA unprotected and causes cellular functionality to be compromised and ultimately leads to cell apoptosis (death) or senescence.
Every muscle in the torso (skin, liver, cardiovascular, etc.) is made up of tissues, therefore telomeres are crucial to health. Reducing or stopping the shortening of telomeres can slow or stop cell aging.
